Dr CaitrÍona Waters

Originally from Cornamona, Caitriona, the founding partner graduated from NUI Galway in 2001. She pursued vocational training in General Practice on the Western General Practice training scheme and was awarded MICGP in 2007. Caitriona established Seapoint Medical Centre in Barna in 2010.

Dr Martina Killeen

Martina obtained her medical degree in NUI Galway. She completed the Midlands GP training scheme, where she worked in the specialities of Paediatrics, Medicine, Medicine of the Elderly, Obstetrics and Gynaecology, Ear, Nose and Throat, Psychiatry, and Dermatology

She has been working as a General Practitioner (GP) since 2007 and joined Seapoint Medical Centre, in Barna, in 2012. 

Martina has been awarded diplomas in medicine of the elderly, child health, women's health and dermatology. She has a certificate in family planning and is competent in the insertion and removal of Intrauterine devices and contraceptive implants .

Richie

Dr Richie Baggott

Limerick native Richie graduated from NUI Galway in 2003. He pursued a career in Respiratory Medicine and in the following years, Anaesthesia (Critical Care). He achieved Membership of the Royal College of Physicians (Ireland) in 2007. Richie assisted in the set up of the Medical Assessment Unit at University Hospital Galway in 2009, being the first full-time doctor to run the unit.

Subsequent to this he joined the Western Training Programme in General Practice and qualified as a GP. As part of this training he undertook a specialist 6-month module in Galway Hospice Foundation, Renmore in the field of Palliative Medicine.

His areas of interest include men's health, respiratory and cardiac medicine and Endocrinology. He also has a keen interest in paediatrics and health promotion.

Doreen Eaton RN

Doreen qualified as a Registered General Nurse in London in 1986 and as a Midwife in 1989. Following a 12 year period of Practice Nursing in North London, Doreen has been a Practice Nurse in County Galway since 2005.

Registered for cervical screening programme

We have three excellent administrators who take care of our reception desk. Barna natives, Sylvia & Deirbhile and Inverin native Katie. They are a vital part of the daily workings of a busy medical practice. Whether on the phone or in person at our main reception, these ladies will ensure that you are well looked after. They offer important support to our Clinicians each day.
